Qabbahlistic collection

Qabbahlistic collection

During my several trips to Israel I have collected several Talisman, a complete 22 volume set of Zohar, the basic commentaries and a set of standard page sized sheets which contain Hebrew or perhaps Aramaic writings. It is the latter that I am curious about. There were nine variations of these documents. One I have identified as  a listing of the 72 names of Ha-Shem. A Jewish friend thought they might be different kinds of prayers or incantations for good fortune, health or other blessings. I am trying to improve my Hebrew but because the letters have no vowel signs I can't surmise the meaning of the intended texts. Besides words there are Menorah, the Tetragammaton, scrolls, and the six pointed star drawings on the pages. Do you have any idea what these might be?

Hello Abbarossa,

thank you for sharing.

I have moved your posting from the Book Forum to the Qabbalah forum because I cannot see any relation to Salomo Baal-Shem's book (Ancient Traditions of) Qabbalistic Magic.
I also think you will receive more replies here in the Qabbalah forum.

Well actually, I wouldn't have asked Salomo (***edit***, Oholiab, Moderator) the question if I had not read his book and assumed that he was knowledgeable in the various stratagem  employed to effect change in the astral plane using Qabbalah. How will I know that the person who might provide the answer to the question in the Qabbalah forum is giving me a learned response to my question or just giving me a personal opinion on what I am asking? That said I get the point of your reply and int he future will confine myself to the rules you are imposing on the forums.

Hello Abbarossa,

I was not aware that your question was directed to Salomo since you did not actually address anyone in your posting.

In Salomo's forum description of the Book forum it says "Discuss your experiences with the rituals and techniques from Qabbalistic Magic by Salomo Baal-Shem".
It does not say, "Use this forum to discuss any topic that is mentioned in Salomo's book" nor "Use this forum to ask any questions to Salomo directly". In the former case, there would hardly be any need to have so many other forums like e.g. the Qabbalah forum we're using now for this thread, and in the latter case, he would surely have mentioned that he'd answer every question himself, or the like.
Please understand that although Salomo reads forum postings if his time permits, and although he will surely appreciate any reasoned feedback to his book, we nevertheless cannot expect him to answer all questions asked as well. Thank you for your understanding!

You asked,

"How will I know that the person who might provide the answer to the question in the Qabbalah forum is giving me a learned response to my question or just giving me a personal opinion on what I am asking? That said I get the point of your reply and int he future will confine myself to the rules you are imposing on the forums."

This is a valid and justified question!
If the person who might provide the answer does not state their status of Qabbalistical experience and / or Qabbalistical training, nor whether they are stating a personal opinion or are quoting from a reliable source or from their own training, then you can ask them.
The status of BOEL members can be seen by the additions behind their nicknames; these are explained in the Rules, Policies and General Guidelines and will give you a general idea on how experienced any BOEL member is.

You wrote about "effect change in the astral plane using Qabbalah" and I am aware that you have already started  participating in our free Qabbalah online course and therefore already might have read the first lesson which discusses how magic (= practical Qabbalah) can effect changes in all planes of existence, among other questions.

Andrea, I believe I have found the proper balance between answering my own questions and describing what I found in the forum and simply asking a question in an effort to show participation in the forum.  Your insights have been quite useful and I hope I am becoming a better student as I proceed thru the course. I truly am enjoying the course.
