you do not need to do anything if you cannot participate in the course for a while i.e. you do not need to pause your account or anything.
However, if you have subscribed to any forums in the course and get emails or digests, and if you do not wish to receive these emails anymore in the meatime, then please unsubscribe from the forums. Of course you can subscribe again when you return, if you wish.
