Question:

Course or Forum?

(Last edited: Sunday, 16 December 2012, 2:42 PM)
Answer:

In the Qabbalah course, the purpose is to learn and study together, however in the General Open Forum, the man focus is not on learning and study, but on meeting and discussing, and of course you are invited to participate in both the course and the forum ;-)  Please note however that  the course and the forum each serve a different purpose:

What is the difference between the Qabbalah Course and the General Open Forum?

In the Qabbalah Course there are several units which offer you teaching materials that introduce and elaborate on important basic aspects of magic, Qabbalah and the Western Mysteries. These texts are written by Salomo Baal-Shem, and they are a part of the theoretical training of the outer court of the Brotherhood of the Eternal Light (BOEL) during the first year of training.

When you participate in the Qabbalah Course, you are asked to read these lesson texts and discuss them with your fellow students.
This means that students write articles about the topic of each unit and about further aspects of the subject and share their insights in order to deepen their understanding.
In the Qabbalah Course there are senior BOEL students who give support and guidance, if necessary.

Just as it is common-place in other courses, e.g. at university, we ask participants to refer to the lesson texts when they write their articles and their feedbacks on the articles of their fellow students. This is an excellent opportunity to share your thoughts and your opinion on the teaching materials with like-minded people.

The General Open Forum:
If you would like to write about off-topic subjects as well, or if you do not wish to study in the Qabbalah course, but would like to meet like-minded people nevertheless, then you are welcome to participate in our General Open Forum, for this is the right place to do so. In the General Open Forum you can discuss with other participants all the subjects and topics on magic, ritual, Qabbalah etc. that you would like to share. In the General Open Forum, we will not discuss the course materials, of course, for you can do so in the course if you so wish.

Question:

How to begin the Qabbalah Course and how to proceed

(Last edited: Friday, 31 August 2012, 11:32 AM)
Answer:

(The following applies when you are enroled to the Qabbalah course. If you are not enroled to the Qabbalah course, the links will not work.)

Please start the course by reading: Welcome and Introduction to this Online Course (Start here!)

Then proceed to this link.
The next step after having introduced yourself is to read the Overview of our Training
Further information on the course is given in the "How to begin?" section.

In general, the course works as follows:

Go to this page (it will open in a new window). Here you will find the contents of the course in the middle column. You have to go through everything from top to bottom, because activities in this course are conditional.
That means you cannot access an activity or resource unless you have completed the previous one. (There are some exceptions to this rule, e.g. you can always access the Technical Questions Forum.)

Please take care that you finish and submit any quiz you have started, like the introduction quiz, so that you can proceed to the next activity.

If  the quiz does not show correctly, please read our FAQ entry on this "Quiz does not work".

We wish you all the best for your studies!

We have upgraded the forum and course system recently. Now everything works very well again, even with several improvements, and faster than before
Unfortunately password handling has changed and could not be migrated.

This means that you will need to reset your password. You can use the "Forgot my password" link on the login page. That will immediately send an email to your registered address with a link that allows you to set a new password (feel free to use the old one again).

Q

Question:

Qabbalah Course: No feedback for my article

(Last edited: Thursday, 30 August 2012, 7:41 PM)
Answer:

Why have I  not yet received any feedback for my article in the course?
If you have not yet received any feedback for your article so far it will surely help if you give feedback to your fellow students first, for some of them will most likely give you some feedback on your articles in turn - which is how the course is intended to work. (Please also compare the resource "What are the benefits of the forums and how forum posts are rated" that is found in the course for those enroled to it).

Why is feedback important?
The Qabbalah course is for free but you will get the most out of it if you put some effort into it yourself.
The feedback of your fellow students is designed to help you in your understanding of the lesson texts and therefore it will also help you to improve your article. Thus you will receive more points which in turn will enhance your overall assessment of the course.

Why should you respond to feedback?
If participants do not respond to the feedback they already have received, this is likely to discourage further feedback, doesn't it? Also, the feedback is a means that is supposed to help students to improve their articles - which is why high quality feedback is also rated - and isn't it a pity if it is ignored....?
(Furthermore, maybe you will find that high quality feedback is sometimes as difficult as writing a high quality article - or at times maybe even more difficult.)
