About the correspondence course
by Archangel - Thursday, 9 April 2015, 5:37 PM

Greetings everyone,

I've been looking around the website for some time and I like very much the information that I've seen so far. As some questions arised I'll post them here as suggested.

1. How long does it take to finish the correspondence course and how many years it generally takes when the initiation into Western Mysteries are being offered?

2. What kind of books, ritual equipment, incenses, etc are required during the first year?

3. Does every student get a personal mentor and highest level of support and guidance to pass along the course efficiently?

4. Would it be reasonable to take the course while traveling? (The time is not an obstacle. My only concern is if there's too much stuff or books, etc that are needed what can make traveling complicated)

And if not a secret how many active members does the school currently have?

Shalom,

Archangel

Shalom Archangel,

welcome to our open forum!
I am glad to learn that you like our website and are interested in joining the correspondence course.

Your first question is actually addressed in our Qabbalah online course in the resource "Overview of our Training". I noticed you enroled and maybe you already read the text?

In order to answer your other questions, let me first explain the structure of our training:
Training for BOEL members consists of the correspondence course and of optional workshops.
The correspondence course consists of the Qabbalah online course and the associated practical work, mostly meditations, but also other practical occult work.
The Qabbalah online course provides the theoretical part of our training. It is open to non-members as well.

So, how to become a member?
We have modified our membership regulations recently, but our website has not yet been updated. The new terms are that membership requires an invitation first.
There are two possibilities on how you can get an invitation for membership. The one is to participate in at least one workshop series, which consists of six workshops that take place within about fourteen months. Since our current workshops take place in Germany, the travelling is unfortunately not possible for everyone. We offer translation to English for some workshops to enable international students to attend, of course.

The other possibility is to study our online course for at least one year, and to contribute to the course  in a constructive manner during this time. Primarily this means course work, i.e. writing articles in the course units and giving feedback to the articles of your fellow students, and other forms of learning.
So these are two ways of becoming affiliated with us.

Both ways give the then-affiliated student the opportunity to decide whether or not they want to become more involved with us in the future.
An invitation for membership will normally not happen before one year has passed. It is not unusual that it might take longer, for an invitation will only be made if we can see a permanent interest in our spiritual work and a deep desire to dedicate oneself to this spiritual path. Until then there will be enough time to get to know each other better.

"2. What kind of books, ritual equipment, incenses, etc are required during the first year? "

In the first year you can do the online course which requires a computer and internet connection, and if you would like to do the daily candle exercise, you'll need a white candle and a candle holder. Additionally, you can buy the course book that is currently available.See the online course for details. So if you are travelling, this will not be a problem.

3. Does every student get a personal mentor and highest level of support and guidance to pass along the course efficiently?

Only BOEL members receive this kind of mentorship.

And if not a secret how many active members does the school currently have?

We have quite a number of active members - most of them in the German Qabbalah online course, since we are based in Germany - and of course in the workshops in Germany. However there are not thousands of students as of yet ;-)

I hope this answers most of your questions!

Thank you Andrea for such a quick reply.

I do not know that I have enrolled to the course yet but maybe I accidentally clicked the link. I've been reading pretty much everything on this website and yes I did see that the Qabbalah course will last for a year. However I was more interested how long will the full study last in general before one is being offered the initiation. What happens when the one year course is finished?

I actually like the approach that you are taking by making it invitation only basis. This model is used by many other occult orders and secret societies to keep off the ones who are just curious. However I almost finished answering to all of the questions. Would you be still interested in my responses even after a year is passed or I may just delete this file.

The website also mentioned two other books that were planned to be released in the future but I didn't find any further information about it. Is there anything else coming out this year or soon besides the Qabbalistic Magic course book?

I'm glad to hear that the traveling will not be an issue and I think the best way to start would be to enroll the one year Qabbalah course then.

LVX,

Archangel

Hello Archangel,

you are welcome!

And you are right - you had not been enrolled to the course - my mistake. Sorry!
So it is good to learn that you want to enrole, for there you will find the answers to your questions on initiation and the books. There are no other publications planned for the near future, i.e. within - as you wrote - this year or soon. Other than the course book, of course.

What happens when the one year course is finished?

Then you can either express your interest in becoming a member, or simply stay affiliated with us. For members, additional ressources are available.

As to your questionnaire, I do not think your time has been wasted even if you decide to not send it in. And if - for some reason or other - you think it makes sense to submit it, feel welcome to do so. However you will still be required to study with us so that the school can decide on an invitation, and you mgiht be required to update the questionnaire if and when the time of your invitation has come.

"I'm glad to hear that the traveling will not be an issue and I think the best way to start would be to enroll the one year Qabbalah course then."

Great - so I am looking forward to seeing you there!

Hi Andrea,

Thank you for being so helpful. I though I post this questions here as well rather than starting a new topic. It came to my mind today and I'd like to know if possible who are the inner plane Masters (Maggid if you wish) who are overlighting the teachings and work in BOEL?

Hi Archangel,

sorry, we do not talk about this publicly. I think you half-expected this.

As you know, you are welcome to (continue to) participate in the Qabbalah course or visit our website to find more information about our school, so that you can have valid impressions and information on the kind of group mind and of our work. The Qabbalah online course offers the theoretical part of the first year of training for members, which - to the best of my knowledge - seems to be unique for a mystery school to reveal this to non-members for free.

I think you need to do this forum in order to access the forum of the first lesson and fully participate in it.

I am looking forward to hearing from you,

In Light
Andrea
